Hi guys! We’re approaching mid-January and it’s gone full blast Siberia in New York. Even though, I enjoy wearing cozy outfits, it’s too friggin cold! The only way to survive is to cover yourself from head to toe, literally! If you’ve been following me, I’m sure you’ve noticed how much I love accessorizing with scarves. So, I wanted to show you guys another great way to style a silk scarf.
Normally, I like to wear my scarf as a hairband, but I really like how the Babushkas used to wear it in the “Old Country.” When you wear it this way the beautiful print and colors of the scarf really stand out. I feel, to wear your scarf this way is quite unexpected and unique. It’s the perfect way to make a statement, and to create a feminine nuance. Best of all, it really keeps you warm!
For more than a decade I’ve been really into wearing capes. The problem with a cape is its functionality (restriction of the arms and lack of warmth), but I don’t think there is anything quite like a cape to make great fall/winter outfit. I can always count on it to make my outfit stand out.
Because capes are so not warm, I’m wearing layers underneath, Uniqlo’s heat-tech, a must, my Ethos New York Jackie's Boyfriend shirt and a very warm oversized sweater with vegan leather pants, which I have to say are as warm as real leather pants. Oversized top is always a favorite in my wardrobe, of course. Always comfortable and I love how I look thinner.
I’m wearing sock sneakers, and I love how they make, my otherwise conservative outfit, totally sporty. It’s that unexpected touch.
